About Us:

D&L Film Developing

D&L Film Developing began with a simple conversation between two photographers, David and Linda. One night at a party, both were out shooting film when they started talking about how much they loved film photography... but how frustrating it had become to pay over $20 per roll just to get their film developed.

That shared frustration sparked an idea: what if high-quality film developing and scanning could actually be affordable again, not just for us, but for the entire community?

We started by pooling together our own rolls and collecting film from friends and other local photographers. By partnering directly with professional processors, we were able to secure wholesale pricing and pass the savings straight back to the community. Our approach was simple: keep operations lean, focus on quality, and build something that supports photographers, not corporations.

Six years later, that grassroots idea has grown into a national film lab serving photographers across the country. Today, D&L specializes in color and black-and-white film processing, 35mm and 120 film development, and high-resolution film scanning, all with fair prices, fast turnaround times, and consistently excellent results.

Photographers choose D&L because we combine affordability, reliability, and a genuine passion for film. With easy Brooklyn drop-off, Deal NJ drop-off and nationwide mail-in services, we make it simple for anyone to keep shooting without breaking the bank.

At the heart of it all is a belief that film photography should stay accessible, for hobbyists, artists, and professionals alike. That’s why we do what we do: keeping film alive, one roll at a time.
